It occurred to us that by shopping on the Internet in the comfort of our own home or office, we could spend our evenings and weekends doing something worthwhile. When we realised we couldn't find the products we wanted we decided to create our own website and here it is, the perfect online establishment for your gentlemanly requisites.

We use the services of International Royal Mail to ship your order internationally. The tariff depends on where you are sending it:
 
USA & Canada - for destinations within the USA and Canada, a cost of £14.95 will apply. This provides a Priority service by Royal Mail International Signed For, which aims to deliver within 3 - 5 working days. A signature will be required.

EU Member States - for destinations within the EU, a cost of £7.95 will apply. This provides a Priority service by Royal Mail International Signed For, which aims to deliver within 7 working days. A signature will be required.
 
Rest of World - If the destination country is classed as 'Rest of World' a cost of £17.95 will apply. This provides a Priority service by Royal Mail International Signed For, which aims to deliver within 5-7 working days. This tariff applies for all other countries not mentioned above. A signature will be required.

Gift Wrapping & Personal Messages
At Mgender our aim is to take the grunt work out of shopping, including the 'now where's the Sellotape, put your finger there' wrapping hassle. So if your wrapping leaves a lot to be desired or you're just too busy, why not leave it to us...
For a charge of just £2.75 per order your gifts will be professionally wrapped in a choice of high quality, subtle blue or 'rolled' gold wrapping paper. For no extra charge we will personalise the gift with a message from you (letting them know what a thoughtful, generous person you are!) on a gift tag attached to the gift.
You pick the gift wrapping service in the basket by ticking the gift wrapping option, choosing your preferred colour of wrapping paper. Then tell us what message, if any, you want to go onto the gift tag. It's that simple!

My Shipping Address Book
Your Shipping Address Book is simply a list of addresses to which your orders can be dispatched and here you can add addresses, edit or delete them.
You can access you address book via your 'Account' page or by clicking on the link in the 'Login Section' in the right hand menu.
Your address book can hold a selection of addresses.
Default Shipping Address
When you first register with Mgender your billing address will automatically become your default shipping address'. This will be the address to which orders will be shipped in the absence of any other shipping address details entered by you.
Shipping Address For an Order
When you have placed products in your basket and are completing your order by clicking the 'checkout' link, the shipping address for the order is selectable from the Billing Address or another address that you have added to your address book. You can change the shipping address at this stage of the order simply by clicking on the link immediately above the shipping address you wish to use.
Once you have clicked 'Edit Addresses', click on the 'Add New Address'link. A new page will appear requesting details of the shipping address you wish to enter. Some of these fields are mandatory. You should complete the details as required and then click on the 'Save Address' button. A message will appear confirming that you have added the new address to your address book.
Editing an Existing Address
To the right of existing addresses two buttons appear: Edit and Delete. Click on the 'Edit' button and a page containing the existing details for that address will appear. Edit the details as required and then click the 'Save Address' button. This will save the changes and take you back to the list of shipping addresses.
Deleting an existing address
Click on the 'Delete' button appearing to the right of the address you wish to delete. The address will be removed immediately and you will be returned to the lsit showing the remaining addresses.

Gift Certificates
How do I buy an Mgender Gift Certificate?
It's very simple to earn some extra browny points for being a great mate, showing that you are in the know, or just for being generous - here's how...Select the 'Gift Certificates' option from the right hand menu that appears on every page. Fill in the details and add a message to the recipient. Then enter a Gift Certificate value. When you have completed these details, click on the 'BUY' button. This will take you to the basket and you'll see the Gift Certificate has been automatically added to your basket.
If you have further purchases to make return to shopping and then proceed through the order process as usual. To proceed with finalising your Gift Certificate purchase, go to your basket by clicking on Basket on the Top menu. Once you're happy all the details are correct click the green 'Proceed with Order' button and then proceed with finalising the order in the usual way. The person you are buying the Gift Certificate for will automatically receive an email from Mgender which will include your details, your message and a reference code they can use when purchasing products at Mgender. How can I use an Mgender Gift Certificate?
It's easy. You can use the Gift Certificate to pay for products in the same way as paying by credit/debit card or cheque.
Once you've added products to your basket click the basket icon on the menu at the top of every page or click on the 'Spent so Far' box title. This will take you to your basket details page.
When you are happy with all the products and information in your basket, click the green 'Proceed with Order' button.
You will now be presented with a Select Payment Method page. Choose payment by Gift Certificate and click Proceed with Order. The next page will ask you for the Gift Certificate code. Enter the code received by email and click Purchase Now.
If the value of your order is less than the value of the Gift Certificate the balance will be held for you to use on another visit. If the value of your order exceeds the value of the Certificate you'll be asked to use another form of payment or another Gift Certificate to cover the difference.

How do I submit and read product reviews?
This feature is not currently available but will be in the next update of the Mgender website.
 
This is where you get your chance to let us and your fellow Mgender customers know what you thought about the products you've bought, what is a 'must have' and what is not so good.
Letting us have your reviews
You can write your review of a product by clicking on the 'Review product' link next to the Thumbs Up icon. This has 'Customer review' below it. This can be found in the 'Extra Information' box on the detailed description page for the particular product in question. If reviews for that product already exist then the headline for up to three reviews, followed by 'more...' will appear.
Clicking on the 'Review product' button will take you to a review submission page - basically a blank page - on which you let us have your thoughts.
Complete the name and title of your review and then get cracking on praising/recommending/waxing lyrical/slagging etc. at will. At the bottom of the page there is a star rating system too - 5 stars is excellent, bodacious, and generally outstanding while 1 is 'pants'. Select the rating by clicking on the appropriate check box. Then hit the 'Submit' button.
Your review is then automatically sent to us and provided it isn't profane or otherwise going to land us or you in court then it will appear as a review on the detailed description page for that product, showing your comments, rating and name. Please note that we can't accept reviews that are in any way obscene, racist, defamatory, or otherwise unsuitable and that we have absolute discretion as to what is acceptable. But fear not, the bad reviews are as welcome as the good and WILL get posted.
Reading Product reviews
Customer reviews of products are found on the Product description page for the product in question. In the Extra information tab on this page you will see the Thumbs Up icon with 'Customer review' underneath.
A list of existing reviews will appear, with the heading for up to three reviews and then 'More...'. Clicking on the review heading will take you straight to the full narrative. A tab will also appear which lists the other reviews that exist for that product.

My Wish List
A wish list is exactly what it says on the label! A list of those items or services you just wish someone would get you either as a gift for a special occasion, or if you're lucky, for no particular reason. You simply choose the products for your wish list and then email it to your family and friends, either immediately or when you have visited the site a few times and identified your favourites, and then wait for the heavy thud on the doormat!
You can also use your wish list to make a note of the products you are interested in buying at some time in the future. You can even use it for repeat purchases by adding a product to your wish list each time you buy it and then go to your wish list next time you visit and click on the 'Buy' option on the wish list. But we recommend that you use Previous Basket to do this - we think you'll find it quicker.
So if you are trying to drop a heavy hint or just drawing up a list for future use, you simply click on the 'Add to wish list' option next to the product on the detailed product page.
When you are logged on you can view your wish list at any time in 'My Details'. You can remove an individual item from your list by clicking on the delete option under the product description or remove all items on your list by clicking on the 'Remove all' button. But remember, to access or update your wish list, you must be logged on first!

Telling a friend about a product or Mgender
After visiting us, buying our great products and reading the various articles that affect men you'll want to spread it around a bit (the good news that is!) either about a particular product or that there is a site that takes the strain out of shopping for the essentials and is a must on every mans (and their other halves) favourites.
Our 'Tell a friend' service can be used to tell friends about specific products or about Mgender as follows:
The Tell a friend about a product option is available on each product description page - it's the icon in the shape of a telephone handset in the "Extra Info" tab on the detailed product description page. Click on the icon and a pop up window appears. You then type in the name and email address you want the product description to go to with any accompanying message (like 'look at this cool product - you should buy it!) and then hit the 'Send' button. The email with your message will automatically be sent.
The Tell a friend about Mgender option is available at all times - it is called 'Tell a Friend' and appears towards the bottom of the list in the left hand menu of your screen wherever you are on the site. Click on this option and a pop up window appears. You then type in the name and email address of the person you want to inform and an accompanying message to them (like 'look at this cool site - you should put it on your favourites!) and then hit the 'Send' button. The email with your message will be sent automatically.
Spreading it around is that easy!

Finding products
At the top of the website you'll find a SEARCH box. This is the quickest way to go directly to a product if you know its name. Type in the name of a product you want to search for and hit the 'Go' button. It's as simple as that. The search query will return all products found on the Mgender website containing the keyword or words you typed in. There'll be up to ten products shown per page and you'll see a short description of the product and its price. You'll also have the ability to add one of these products to your basket at this stage. If you want to see more details for any of the listed products simply click on the title of the product, which will link you directly to the detailed product page for that item.

How do I cancel my order?
This is pretty straightforward...
If you haven't yet ordered i.e. completed the order process including making payment then at any stage you can simply abort the purchase and the order will not proceed.
If you have completed the order process you can cancel an order or part of an order up until the time it is dispatched. The dispatch time will vary according to the availability of the products included in your order. If the order has already been dispatched please see our returns policy by clicking here.

Whichever method you use you need to quote the account name, the order number and method of payment used. If you want to cancel part of an order, you will need to know the number of the product you want to cancel. All this information appears in 'Previous Orders' accessed from your 'Account details' page.
When an order is cancelled your credit card, debit card will be credited.

VAT is an indirect tax on the supply of goods and services.
All product prices on the Mgender website are stated inclusive of VAT.
The rate of VAT charged on the products you buy from Mgender is determined by reference to your billing address. If your billing address is in the EU then VAT at 17.5% will be charged. If your billing address is outside the EU you will be charged VAT at 0% and product prices will be shown exclusive of VAT in your basket. 
The VAT rate applied and amount of VAT charged appears at the bottom of your basket and will be clearly indicated on the invoice we issue to you.
How do I order with Mgender?
You are at the Mgender site and you want to place goods from the various interesting product categories in your basket, proceed to order and then make payment. It's pretty straightforward really.
Once you've found the product you're looking for, you will be able to add the product to your basket with the BUY button. Clicking on View will take you to the detailed product page (with larger image) where you will be able to make a size and/or colour selection.You can even click on the appropriate product image to get a larger image if required.
 
The product selected will now be in your basket and the 'Spent so Far' total will include the product added.
 
Placing your order
Click on the basket icon on the menu at the top of every page or click on the 'Spent so Far' box title. This will take you to your basket details page.
If you have not already logged in you will automatically be asked to do so. For more information on logging in and registration click here.
Your basket details lists the following information:
The products you have placed in your basket;
The billing address for this order;
The shipping address for this order (this can be changed at this stage if required);
Your Mg loyalty points total prior to placing this order;
Shipping options available;
Gift wrapping option and personalised message option.
At this stage you can change the shipping address for this order (read about how you change your shipping address book), change the quantity of the product included in this order, and delete a product from your basket. To read more about how to do this click here.
Each time you change one of the above details click on the 'UPDATE' button next to the item changed.
When you are happy with all the products and information in your basket, click the green 'Proceed with Order' button.
You will now be presented with a Select payment method page. You have the choice of paying by credit/debit card, by cheque or by Mgender electronic gift Certificate. For more information on different payment methods please click here. Select the relevant payment method.
If you are paying by credit/debit card...
An Order Information page will appear. Check your order details before clicking the Proceed with Order button.
A credit/debit card details page will appear. Complete the credit/debit card details requested and then click on the 'Purchase Now' button.
An order confirmation page will appear thanking you for your order. An email confirming your order details will be sent to you.
If you are paying by cheque...
An Order Information page will appear telling you that this is your last step. Follow the instructions and click the 'Purchase Now' button. An email confirming your order details will be sent to you. Cheques must be made payable to Mgender.com Ltd and sent to Mgender.com Ltd, Unit 12 Silveroaks Farm, Waldron, Heathfield, E.Sussex TN21 0RS. The order will not be dispatched until the cheque has cleared. This usually takes betweenÿ5 and 7 working days.ÿ
If you are paying by Mgender electronic gift Certificate...
An Order Information page will appear asking for your unique Gift Certificate reference code. Complete as appropriate. If the value of your gift Certificate is in excess of the value of products purchased you will be able to use the remaining balance by continuing to use the unique reference up to the full value of the gift Certificate. Alternatively if the value of the gift Certificate is less than the value of the products purchased, the balance of the amount due can be paid by credit/debit card or cheque by going through the same process as outlined above.
Click the PURCHASE NOW button afterÿentering the reference code.
An order confirmation page will appear thanking you for your order. An email confirming your order details will be sent to you.
Mgender accepts the following methods of payment:
MasterCard and Visa credit cards;
Maestro, Delta and Solo debit cards;
AmericanExpress; 
Mgender Gift Certificates;
PayPal with a confirmed address.

Payment by Mgender Gift Certificate can be made where you have received an electronic Mgender Certificate, which includes a unique reference code. Click here for more information on Mgender Gift Certificates and how to use them.
To increase or decrease the number of products in your basket or to remove a product entirely from your basket click on the basket icon on the top menu. This takes you to your basket, which is basically a listing of all the products you currently have in your basket. The list is presented as a table with each line showing the product name, cost and in a text entry field the quantity ordered.

To remove a product simply click on the 'Delete Item' link. This will remove the product without any further warning.

To change the quantity, select the Quantity box and change the number in the box. When you are happy with the quantity, click on the 'Update Cart' button under the table.
To go back to browsing click on the left hand menu for the department (Shaving, Hair / Body Care, etc.) you want to visit and proceed as usual. Or you can finalise your order as usual.
 
You can change your password whenever and as often as you like. Here's how...
After you have logged in, the login section changes to present a menu of Account features.
When in your 'Account' you can edit your password and other personal details.
If you forget your password please select the Forgotten Password link in the Login section of the right menu and a new password will be sent to your registered email address.

Viewing Past Orders
Once you have logged in, the Login menu on the right changes to give access links to your Past Orders, Account Details and addresses.
By clicking on the appropriate link you can edit your details or view past orders.
Your personal details can be changed at any time and as often as you need.
Simply click on 'Account Details' link in the right menu after logging in. Click on the 'Edit Account' option. Amend any or all of your details as necessary and then click on the 'Update Account Details' button.

When you register you are given the option to be sent our newsletter.
To receive the newsletter simply check the box when you register or alternatively if you are already registered and you want to subscribe or unsubscribe go to your 'Account Details' page after logging in and check or uncheck the Newsletter box.
Logging in
If your cookies are enabled you will be automatically logged in - for more information on cookies click here.
Otherwise when you try to access 'Account Details' or if you try to place an order (i.e. you have picked products that are in your basket and you click on 'Proceed with order') you will be asked to log in.
To log in you need your account name and a password - both of which you decide when you register. See below for more information on registration.
After you have logged in, confirmation of your details will appear and the Login menu will change to give further Account options with the following links:-

Registration
In order to purchase products from Mgender you need to be registered with us so you have an account name and we recognise you as a customer.
If you have products in your basket and are proceeding to finalise your order, you will be asked to register (i.e. create a new account) if you have not already done so.
You can access Registration by clicking on the 'Log In/Register' option on the left hand menu on every page. If you try to access 'Account Details' or click on the 'Proceed with Order' option after you have placed products in your basket you will be automatically prompted to register.
By whichever method you access registration, complete the details requested, including an account name, your password (your password must be at least six characters long and must be alpha numeric) your name, address, contact details and email address, and whether you want to receive our monthly newsletter. Note the mandatory fields must be completed in order to register. Click on the 'Submit' button. An email confirming your registration details will be sent to you at the email address you provide in the registration details.
Now get registered and start buying!!
 
Will my order be part shipped?
Part shipping is available on orders to be delivered to UK addresses only.
If you have ordered products with different availability dates then the answer is yes we will part ship. That means that those products that are immediately available will be shipped in accordance with our normal shipping policy and the balance of your order will be shipped when all the remaining items on your order are available. The second delivery is at our expense and is by standard Royal Mail first class post.
Our usual shipping policy applies to the first shipment; free on total orders over £50 (inc VAT) or a £1.95 shipping charge on orders of less than £50 for delivery by Royal Mail first class post. Click here for full details of our delivery charges.
If you have chosen the courier delivery option this will apply to the first items shipped however the second shipment at our expense is by standard Royal Mail first class post.
For deliveries to addresses outside the UK the whole order will be held until all items on your order are available.

How long will my order take to arrive?
To find out when your order will arrive you'll need to look at the availability of the product you ordered and the dispatch method you selected, such as Royal Mail First Class, Next Day, etc. The estimated time for delivery of your order can be calculated as follows:
Estimated Time for Delivery = (Availability Time) + (Dispatch Method Time)
Availability Time - This is the time it takes after we receive your order to package it ready to send to you. For example, if we have an item in stock it will usually be available to send out on the same day providing we receive your order before 2 p.m. In this case the Availability Time is 24 hours. If your order is received by us after 2 p.m. and the item is in stock the Availability Time is 48 hours. Orders received after 2 p.m. on a Friday are usually dispatched on the following working day. In this case the Availability Time is 72 hours. 
Some items may be out of stock or bought to order. In such cases we may have to order the item from our suppliers and it may take longer for us to dispatch. To find out more about availability we suggest that you read our Availability Guide. You can check the availability of a product by looking at the details on any product detail page. To the right of the image you will see the price and availability.
Dispatch Method Time - This is the estimated time taken for your product to travel from us to you and will depend on the chosen delivery method. Standard Royal Mail First Class delivery is usually a next working day service. This means that if your product is in stock and you do not select an alternative method for delivery we will aim to get your product to you within two working days of you placing your order. Click here for more details of our delivery methods and estimated delivery times.
To check the status of open (current) and past orders select 'View previous orders' from your 'Account Details' page or select 'Order Tracking' from the left hand menu. You will be asked to enter your password for security purposes. After verification of your password a list of all orders you have made will appear in chronological order. What you'll see is the order number and the date it was placed, the total cost, the order status and shipping status. The order and shipping status will either be shown as 'processing' or 'complete'. Order status complete indicates your order is ready for dispatch. Shipping status complete indicates your order has been dispatched.
By clicking on the order number the full details will appear including billing address, shipping address, method and cost, product description and price, and total order value.
PLEASE NOTE: When returning goods please send in the original packaging (or comparable) in order to prevent crushing. This is particularly important for fragile items such as Braun foils and cutters or products contained in delicate cardboard boxes. We cannot refund for goods damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging.

If you change your mind about anything you order, you can cancel the order up to 7 working days after the goods are delivered. To cancel an order, please drop us an e-mail using our Contact Form or telephone us (01435) 812400 with details of the order you are cancelling. We will refund the price paid by you for the goods (but not postage), as soon as we can, and no later than 30 days after the cancellation. We may have to deduct any reasonable costs we incur in re-packaging goods for re-sale or the cost of recovering the goods from you. Whilst we respect your right to change your mind, we would ask that you take reasonable care of any goods which you decide you do not want. We will gladly exchange, replace or refund your purchase with the following exceptions:-
Our Body Care, Shaving, Hair Care and Health departments cannot accept the return of a product if it has been opened or clearly used. If an item has been opened we will only accept the return if the product is found to be defective.
For reasons of hygiene, our Underwear department cannot accept the return of a product if the garment has been opened and clearly worn.
If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is defective, we will be happy to refund any initial delivery charges incurred by you. Otherwise you will be responsible for those charges and the costs of gift-wrapping or tagging if applicable. If you have received incorrect goods we will make sure that you receive a full refund or replacement goods according to your wishes. We will also re-imburse you for the reasonable cost of return of such goods providing that a receipt is supplied.
This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
RETURNS PROCEDURE
We want to ensure that your return is dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible. To help us achieve this please go to the Returns Form and complete the required details relating to your order. Tell us your reason for returning this item or order. You will receive a return authorisation number by e-mail. Please enclose a copy of the e-mail or write the number on a slip of paper and include with the returned product(s). Package the item(s) securely, take it to a Post Office and ask for a Certificate of Posting. This Certificate of Posting is free of charge and is proof of posting should your returned package be lost. If your returned package does not get to us and you did not obtain a Certificate of Posting as proof of postage, Mgender.com Ltd cannot accept liability for the loss and a replacement or refund may not be available.
Once we have received your return our Customer Services Department will inspect and deal with the return according to your wishes and in conjunction with our Returns Policy. You will be notified of the outcome by email. We cannot accept liability for packages damaged during transit and you are advised to package the item(s) adequately to prevent this happening.
Any refunds will be made using the same method used for the initial transaction. Please note that credit card companies only allow refunds to be made to the card used to pay for the original order. Please be aware that it can take as long as 7 working days for a refund to be acknowledged by your credit card company.

All queries received outside these times will be dealt with as quickly as possible. The current Royal Mail Christmas last-posting date for Western European countries is 10th December 2008.

The following countries are considered by Royal Mail to be included in Western Europe: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Vatican City State.

Deliveries to Rest of World Countries
The current Royal Mail Christmas last-posting date for Canada, USA and Japan is 8th December 2008. Orders received after this date will be sent as as soon as possible.

The current Royal Mail last-posting date to ensure arrival before Christmas Day for the remaining countries is 5th December 2008. Orders received after 3rd December 2008 will not be in time for Christmas and will be dispatched as soon as possible.
